Maternajes Transfronterizos investigates motherhood and care, taking as a starting point the artist's own experience as a mother, artist and migrant woman who lives in the town of Cinctorres. The project proposed to build a safe space and portray various migrant caregivers from the global south who live in the rural context of the province of Castelló, and then expanded to the German rural environment.
The work was done using analogue photographic techniques, which, as a ritual, were activated with significant objects for each person photographed. Including organic matter in the development process with which each caregiver identified her experiences. The aim is to make visible part of the participants' intimate memories, putting on stage materialities of emotional value, trying to construct narratives that show a multiplicity of sensibilities and how these are manifested in the European context.
