On 13 May, the town of Oliva hosts the 5th edition of Concurso Nacional de Coca de Oliva, its National Coca Competition, with a quest to find the best take on this traditional bready treat. This professional competition, organised by the Oliva council along with Asociación Gastronómica de Amigos de la Coca (AGACO), features a panel of judges - including the director of Guía Repsol this year - who are experts in the field. What's more, the 3rd Amateur Sweet Coca Competition take places two days before on 11 May and invites locals residents and associations to take part. Every year the bar is raised higher, so don’t miss being part of this gastronomic event and try a typical Valencian ‘coca’ snack.
