One of the Region of Valencia’s great historic heritage sites is Santa Maria de la Valldigna Royal Monastery, located in Simat de la Valldigna. Every Saturday and Sunday, the monastery runs free guided tours, but the site is also putting on a number of original visits. On the 28 May, you can join 'El jardín de los monjes' (The monks’ garden), which will tell you all about the architecture of the Cistercians and the gardens while on the 11 June, you can see 'Un monasterio de cine' (The monastery and cinema), a dramatized tour that recreates impressive film scenes. And then on the 25 June it’s 'Del gótico al barroco' (From Gothic to Baroque), which analyses the different styles and construction techniques employed at the monastery.
