ArtAlberic, art in the streets

Take a look around an open-air art gallery where the works of art will leave you speechless. This festival covers the walls of Alberic with great street art.
ArtAlberic, a street art festival held in Alberic in La Ribera Alta, has turned the streets of the town into an incredible art exhibition. Come and explore all the nooks and crannies of a destination where creativity and paintings have taken over the walls and façades.
What makes ArtAlberic unique is the impact – both artistic and emotional – that the large-scale murals have on festival-goers. There’s nothing quite like watching the renowned artists taking part in the event create their works live. You’ll see cranes, spray cans and paint in the hands of the creators, which is a sight to behold.
The street art festival is an incredible reason to visit Alberic. The art created during the event is left on the walls, meaning you can enjoy it at any time of the year. As you wander the streets, you’ll feel like you’re looking at a large open-air art gallery.
Previous editions of ArtAlberic have centred on inspirational themes like the relationship between humankind and nature, and between women and rural life. Solidarity and empathy are other past themes that were chosen to inspire the works of the participating artists. Just imagine the incredible creations that will be made off the back of these themes.
We’d recommend wandering around the centre of Alberic to see these large-scale contemporary works of art that contrast with the traditional ceramic altarpieces decorating the street. Beyond seeing the ArtAlberic murals, you can explore La Muntanyeta nature area and sample a tasty panquemao, a traditional pastry that is similar to brioche. There’s a lot to do in Alberic.
If you’re a fan of street art, you could put together an itinerary to see the other al fresco works of art located across the Region of Valencia. Put the Unfinished Museum of Street Art in Fanzana, the paintings decorating the walls of València Historic Centre and Carrícola’s outdoor museum in the midst of nature on your list. You up for it?
