The historic centre of Saranyana is situated in Todolella, a lovely municipality with Mediaeval influences in Els Ports county in Castellón. This ancient site, now uninhabited, is brimming with interesting places that suggest a past full of life. Visit and you’ll be transported back in time. The church was built on the foundations of a castle, and there are other places worth checking out, such as the old town hall with porch and the old cells that are practically unchanged. One of the most impressive parts of the old traditional centre of Saranyana is the gothic bridge. Take a photo on it as a souvenir of your trip back in time. While you’re there, take a look at San Miguel y Santa Quiteria Chapel, built on top of the remains of a temple from the 18th century. A good idea is to reach Saranyana by foot as part of a hike from Todolella which will take you less than an hour and the views definitely make it worth it.
