Have you heard of Camino de Santiago de Levante, the eastern route of Camino de Santiago? The oldest pilgrimage in Europe, Camino de Santiago, stretches as far as the province of Valencia. Camino de Levante takes you from the Valencian coast inland, and eventually to the city of Santiago de Compostela.

Camino de Santiago de Levante crosses Castilla la Mancha, the Community of Madrid and Castilla- León, until reaching Zamora, where the route joins up with Vía de la Plata, the Silver Route. It then continues on to Galicia. Are you up for this personal challenge?

Camino de Santiago de Levante: history and stages

Historically, Camino de Santiago de Levante was the route chosen by pilgrims who travelled to València port to set out on their religious journey to Santiago de Compostela. Today, just like in the Jacobean times, the entrance of València Cathedral remains the starting point for pilgrims.
