What to see in Chulilla
A great place to start is at the highest part of the destination: the Castle. Perched on the top of a mountain, the fortress dates back to Muslim times and is open to visitors. Here you can breathe in spectacular views over the canyon of the River Turia whose walls are popular among rock climbers. This is a great place to get an overview of everything else there is to explore in the destination.
Once you’ve looked around the castle, make your way back down to the centre of Chulilla, where you’ll find yourself falling in love with the narrow streets and white-washed façades. We’d recommend visiting 18th-century Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles Parish Church and then continue to La Peñeta viewing point that affords incredible vistas over the River Turia.
Keep strolling around the streets and plazas and before too long you’ll find yourself at San José or San Josepe Chapel, which dates back to the 17th century. You can then make your way to the area known as La Ermita, which provides another fantastic panoramic view over Chulilla.
Next you can check out one of Chulilla’s most spectacular sights: the Blue Pool, a beautiful part of the River Turia embraced by vertical walls. You’ll be impressed by just how spectacular it is and the incredible photographs that you’ll take. Los Pantaneros Walk is another of Chulilla’s attractions. Starting in the centre, the trail will lead you to Los Calderones Natural Municipal Area in Hoces del río Turia, where you can enjoy spectacular gorges and canyons traversed by hanging bridges.
Chulilla is a place that you’ll want to visit time and again. Start planning your getaway to make sure you see everything there is to enjoy in one of the most beautiful villages in the province of Valencia.
