Tucked away in the county of L’Horta Nord in Valencia, Museros is your next holiday destination. You’ll love the picturesque huerta landscape that cradles the town. We’ve prepared a guide to help you plan your trip. Jump from village to village and explore the rich local heritage, history and nature.
What to do in Museros
The first thing to check out when you arrive in Museros is Asunción de Nuestra Señora Parish Church. This historic landmark is adorned with tiles in the typical Valencian style. San Roque Chapel is another pretty site to visit. The 18th-century white-washed building is surrounded by a charming manicured garden.
Step back in time and visit the house and gardens of poet and writer Teodoro Llorente in Museros. Llorente was a key figure in Valencian literature during the 19th and 20th century.
Now let’s get out of town and set off into the surrounding cultivated fields of Museros which define this historic town, and explore the traditional canals and paths weaving through the countryside.
We suggest pulling on some comfy clothes and getting out your bicycle or walking shoes. Venture out into the patchwork landscape and admire the carefully designed irrigation canals and immaculate fields. This sweeping coastal plain is defined by its neat lines of crops and local produce which thrive in the sunny weather.
Along the way you’ll encounter the Moncada Royal Canal which dates back to Roman times. The former railway track, now Vía Verde Xurra, connects the city of València with the inland area and is a great route to take, whether cycling, on foot or on a jog. Explore the scenic countryside the way that suits you.
