A weekend trip with the kids in the Region of Valencia: an underground park
A weekend away with the children to the Region of Valencia only presents one challenge: choosing what to do. There are so many things to do and see here that could be part of your special weekend with the family. We have one special idea for you that takes place underground.
Visit the pretty villages of Culla and La Torre d’en Besora and delight in their Medieval style streets. The kids will love exploring the cobbled streets and winding passageways. To round off the trip, visit Parc Miner del Maestrat and climb on board the tourist train which takes through this old iron mine. An expert guide will lead the way and there’s even a picnic area and games zone along the way. Book your adventure!
Country weekend getaways in the Region of Valencia: Castielfabib
Valencia boasts lots of charming villages nestled in the countryside, one of which is Castielfabib - the ideal fairytale destination for a weekend away to the country. The Medieval centre and spectacular scenery make this a very special place where you can get a glimpse into rural living.
Castielfabib offers sweeping views of Muela de los Tres Reinos Natural Area and natural sights such as Hoces del río Ebrón, an old hydroelectric site. This spot is a wild swimming paradise and easily reached following the signposted trail.
And you can’t leave without checking out the dramatic ruins of San Guillermo Convent, a place where architecture and nature blend into one. Take a bite of an Esperiega apple before you leave, a locally grown fruit native to the area; a sweet reminder of your trip to the country.
Romantic weekend breaks in the Region of Valencia: Alicante
Alicante is a great destination if you’re looking for a romantic couples getaway. You and your partner can bask in the golden sunrays and enjoy each other’s company.
Sample the local cuisine in a candlelit restaurant, wander hand in hand through the historic centre and take selfies in the colourful neighbourhood of Santa Cruz as part of your tour around the city. Museums, Postiguet Beach and the Central Market are must-visits, and, of course, you’ll be foolish not to climb up to Santa Bábara Castle in time for the sunset. Convinced yet?
Relaxing weekend away in the Region of Valencia: Teulada/Moraira
If you’re more interested in a destination for unwinding in nature, we recommend heading to Teulada/Moraira where you’ll find yourself amidst sea and mountains. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around the centre of Teulada and admire the traditional stone houses.
For seaside lovers, the sunny destination of Moraira is perfect for lazing on the beach with a book, the sea breeze on your skin. The coves along this coast are breathtaking all year round.
