Discover an incredible heritage site that will blow you away with both its beauty and history. Shall we take a look around this spectacular monument in Alfauir?

Sant Jeroni de Cotalba Monastery in Alfauir is an important part of our historic, artistic and architectural heritage. This monumental site has Mudejar, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical features that were added over the centuries.

We’d recommend coming to visit this historic treasure via guided tour or living history tour. The monastery’s beautiful surroundings invite you to combine this cultural activity with a hiking trail. Make your way up to El Monestir viewing point, on the Castillo de la Palma trail, and you will enjoy incredible views of the site in the distance. The perfect complement to a guided tour.

Highlights of Sant Jeroni de Cotalba Monastery include the entrance portico, the Valencian Gothic style main tower and the over 5,000m of dual-storey, Gothic style aqueduct that is still standing.

As soon as you step foot inside, you’ll discover what life was like at Sant Jeroni de Cotalba Monastery as you visit the kitchen and bakery, the cloisters, the chapter house, the church, the stables, the refectory, the oil press and other lovely spaces that will transport you back in time.

The grounds encircling the monastery are spectacular and are the trailhead for some hikes. Come here and you can enjoy a day packed full of history and beauty. The monastery also makes an incredible venue for family and business events. What’s more, we would recommend keeping up-to-date with the concert programme: music always sounds better in special surroundings, doesn’t it?

Sant Jeroni de Cotalba Monastery is a great destination for a day out with the kids: some of the visits have been designed with families in mind. Are you already looking for dates to come and explore this exceptional site? Make your way to the beautiful monastery to soak up all the history and beauty.
