Hike a circular route: Mas del Señor, Clot de Maig, Dunes of Pebret and Torre Badum
Start by following the Circular Route, which begins in the town of Peñíscola, stops at Mas del Señor (where you can see Badum Tower), continues along an old path that leads to Clot de Maig, descends into the coastal dunes of Playa del Pebret and eventually makes its way back to the starting point. This trail is about 15 kilometres in length! See all of Sierra de Irta Natural Park and get a stellar view of the Castellón province coast when you hop on this trail.
Hike a circular route: Irta Lighthouse, Cala Cubanita and Font de la Parra
Start in Cala Blanca, in Alcossebre, and see one of the most paradisiacal places on the coast of Castellón. On this smooth, low-difficulty trail, you’ll start at Faro de Irta, wander along the Malentivet ravine, stop at Mundina and Cubanita coves, see Font de la Parra and spend time on Serradal Beach, a stunning enclave that impresses with its location on a high mound that’s been eroded by the sea. Finally, you’ll follow the ravine back to the starting point! Added bonus? This trail promises amazing land and Mediterranean Sea views the whole time.
Biking trails in Sierra de Irta
Biking lovers have so many reasons to fall in love with this stunning natural setting. See it from the Ruta del Cranc, a low-difficulty trail that runs about 13 kilometres. Then there’s the Ruta del Xoriguer, which is slightly more difficult and lasts 17.3 kilometres. Finally, if you’re really adventurous, don’t miss the Ruta del Fardatxo! It’s only 13.5 kilometres long, but its interesting terrain makes it a more difficult trail to attempt.
