Viver’s many festivals are a great excuse for visiting this quaint town situated in the county of El Alto Palancia, Castellón. The historic streets transform and the festive atmosphere is contagious. The new year ushers in the Three Kings Parade, enjoyed by everyone, especially the kids. January also welcomes San Antón Festival, which comprises animal blessings and tucking into traditional ring biscuits. Not to mention open-air stages, communal games and horse racing! February makes way for carnival, with parades and dressed-up dancing galore. The festivities continue into March with Holy Week and the Patron Saint Festival in honour of San Francisco de Paula during Easter. This festival features a big bonfire and the special delicacy of blessed Holy Rice, preserving a tradition that spans four centuries.
Summer arrives and the festivals in Viver continue with San Roque Festival consisting of a big outdoor stage and a pilgrimage.
