Museums in El Castell de Guadalest: a whole world of curiosities

Guadalest Ethnological Museum houses two exhibits. One paints the picture of what life used to be like in the village through everyday objects while the other offers a glimpse of agricultural life with a display of farm tools and machinery. There is also a scale model of a grain mill, winery and olive press. 

Another museum in El Castell de Guadalest that will whisk you back in time is the Casa Orduña Museum, where you can visit an old noble home with access to San José Castle. 

Lastly, the Historic Medieval Museum contains an impressive collection of… torture instruments! It’ll make your hair stand on end.

Great to visit with the kids, the micro-miniature museums in El Castell de Guadalest display works of art that have been created on a tiny scale. You’ll see famous paintings recreated on a grain of rice and portraits carved into a grain of sand. Whatever you do, make sure you don’t miss the Microminiature Museum and the Microgiant Museum.

The Valle de Guadalest Museum of Historical Vehicles exhibits old motorbikes and small cars dating to between the 1920s and 1970s. There are also other, much older objects on display. Another option is to take a look around the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum, the Nativity Display Museum and the Doll Museum, which has a large nativity display and lots of old toys.
