Whoever said that culture isn’t fun? The wide variety of museums in the Region of Valencia is proof that you can absolutely have fun as you learn. We would recommend finding out about the entertaining workshops and activities running in almost all of the museums located throughout our destination. The variety will blow you away.

Some museums worth mentioning include Planetari in Castelló de la Plana, which puts on impressive screenings, the Science Museum in València, which is housed in an incredible futuristic building where you can touch, play with and experience everything.

Other kid friendly museums are the Doll Museum in Onil, the Dinosaur Museum in Morella – which both you and the kids will love – and the International Puppet Museum in Albaida (also known as MITA), whose collection hails from some of the furthest flung places in the world and features some of the most famous puppets from our TV screens. 

Things to do with the kids this summer in the Region of Valencia: theme and water parks 

With rollercoasters and other attractions that will get you screaming from thrill and joy, theme parks promise the perfect day out during your summer holiday with the kids. There are also amazing animal parks where your kids will get excited as they see creatures from all four corners of the world.

Benidorm is home to parks inhabited with exotic animals and sea life as well as vertigo inducing attractions and exciting slides. Benicasim, Cullera and Torrevieja also have water parks. In València, make sure you take a look around Bioparc, which will transport you from Spain to Africa.

Use your wit and ingenuity to make your way out of an enormous hedge maze in Peñíscola as well as climb aboard lovely replicas of historic trains at Parque del Trenet in Benicasim.

If you are looking for things to do with the kids this summer on the Region of Valencia coastline, you will be taken aback by the variety of activities on offer as well as the incredible scenery where you can enjoy them. El Mar Greenway - which flanks the Mediterranean between Benicassim and Oropesa del Mar - and Sendero Azul del Belcaire in Moncofa are perfect for kids that enjoy taking walks and cycles. And then there is El Albir Lighthouse Trail, which affords unforgettable sea views. All of these trails are easy and suitable for even the littlest ones. 

Show your kids a great time at the beach at Oropesa del Mar, the perfect place to get them into water sports. At almost any destination along the coastline, you will find professionals that are ready to teach them how to paddle board, windsurf or snorkel. You won’t be short on options.

The villages and landscapes inhabiting the inland have got plenty of surprises up their sleeves. You are going to love all the activities and experiences that you and the kids can enjoy here.

Let’s start with something that plenty of children are fascinated by: dinosaurs. Did you know that you can see fossils in Alpuente? They’ll remember your visit here for the rest of their lives. You can also take a boat ride along the underwater waters of Coves de Sant Josep in La Vall d’Uixó, discover some old mines at Parc Miner del Maestrat, explore Covetes dels Moros in Bocairent and enjoy some adventure sports at L’Alcora Reservoir.
