The Relleu Reservoir Elevated Walkway Route is an excellent idea for a day out in the great outdoors. If you’re in the mood to be blown away by mother nature, this is the walk for you. Combining heights, excitement, glass-bottomed viewing points, beautiful scenery and, of course, the opportunity to visit Relleu, the walk has got all the ingredients for an unforgettable experience.
Relleu’s Elevated Walkway
Located in the province of Alicante, Relleu’s Elevated Walkway is suitable for the general public, though it’s important to stress that children must be supervised by an adult at all times. For everyone else, you won’t need any special equipment or be in particularly good shape to enjoy the walk.
Relleu’s Elevated Walkway is a wooden platform that clings to a vertical rockface overlooking a gorge. This exciting part of the route is about 850m long and, for some sections, will lead you 60m up from the ground. This short but unforgettable walk has two panoramic viewing points with glass floors, putting your vertigo to the test!
There is a car park nearby where you can leave your car and buy your ticket for the walk at the access point. If you prefer, you can also buy your tickets online. From here, you will need to walk to the start of the elevated walkway at Relleu reservoir.
If you’d like to extend the experience, you can include the Relleu Reservoir Elevated Walkway Route in a longer hike, starting in the town. There is an information panel located close to Relleu Town Hall which details the route to the reservoir, which is signposted with green and white way markers.
Along the way, you’ll come across weirs, irrigation channels, aqueducts, old lime kilns and the reservoir itself. Whichever route you choose to follow, you are sure to have an amazing time.
