Inclusive and easy hiking trails in Alicante: El Faro de l’Albir
The first trail is inclusive and suitable for people with disabilities. It’s also ideal for doing some hiking in Alicante with the kids. If you love photography, you’re in luck: you’re sure to get some incredible panoramic shots here. So why not come with us to L’Alfas del Pi?
El Albir Lighthouse Trail, located in Serra Gelada Natural Park, is one of the easiest hiking trails in Alicante and is suitable for people of all ages and disability statuses.
Totalling some 5 km there and back, the route is paved and flanks the cliffs, affording spectacular vistas over the sea. Along the way you’ll see caves, watchtowers, coves and even the ruins of an old copper mine. You won’t want to miss it.
Birding and hiking trails in the province of Alicante: Vultures in Alcoy
Have you heard of El Cint Gorge in Alcoy? Our next hiking trail in Alicante will immerse you in the beautiful scenery of Sierra de Mariola Natural Park on a 10 km circular route.
El Cint Gorge Trail, Alt de les Pedreres and Las Buitreras Viewing Point in Alcoy is an ideal choice for birders as a section of the route is inhabited by griffon vultures. The vistas from the Viewing Point are impressive and you’ll have the opportunity to walk through a narrow and rocky part of the gorge, known as Estret del Cint, which is defined by its sheer rockfaces.
This trail has no particular technical difficulties, but there is 500 m of ascent and descent. Take particular care at the Viewing Point as it is a natural place to enjoy the view and doesn’t have any railings!
The Cathedral of Hiking in Alicante: Trail of 6,000 Steps
On all the lists of the best hiking trails in Alicante is what is known as the Cathedral of Hiking in La Vall de Laguar. Also called the Trail of 6,000 Steps, the route is in Fleix, one of the districts in La Vall de Laguar, and traverses astonishing landscapes.
This trail is a challenge, both in terms of ascent/descent and distance. Coming in at a total of 13 km, you’re sure to be achy the next day. The trail is well signposted and all you need to bring is water, food and good walking shoes.
The trail’s steps zigzag along the side of a gorge, painting a unique picture that offers plenty of surprises along the way: a descent into a riverbed, incredible windows cut into the rock, springs and, the highlight, the Gorge of Hell.
