The trails in Sierra Calderona offer you the opportunity to connect with the beauty of the scenery and landscapes in the Region of Valencia. This green area is located just a stone’s throw from València city and boasts some spectacular mountains.
Immersing you in the embrace of pine and cork trees, the trails in Sierra Calderona will lead you to peaks like El Garbí, which affords beautiful views over the Mediterranean, and other treasures. Hiking trails in Sierra Calderona
The park has a total of five trails that will take you to diverse landscapes. Additional information about these trails is available on the official website. The Blue Trail makes its way to El Garbí. It is an easy, 1.5km walk that will treat you to bird’s-eye vistas over the Gulf of Valencia. On a clear day, you can see as far as Columbretes Islands.
The Red Trail is another easy walk. 5km long, it will lead you to an old cistern, white pine trees, non-irrigated agricultural land, cork trees and a fountain - El Frare - which dates back to the 18th century.
The Yellow Trail in Sierra Calderona is another 5km easy trail that will enable you to look down on an incredible architectural site around Serra, Portaceli Charterhouse, a monastery dating back from the 13th century. Although it is not open to visitors, it is a real sight to behold from the viewing points.
The Green Trail in Sierra Calderona immerses you in the natural park’s cork tree forest and takes you up to Pico Tristán, which acts as a natural observatory. Lastly, the White Trail will take you on an exploration of the pathway that used to connect the Portaceli and Valldecrist Charterhouses in Altura. The trail is 35km long so you will probably want to divide it into two stages.
Accessible trails for people with disabilities in Sierra Calderona
