What to visit in El Rincón de Ademuz

El Rincón de Ademuz comprises seven beautiful municipalities, which make excellent destinations for anyone that enjoys wandering around traditional streets with mother natural just steps away. The biggest of the municipalities, Ademuz, will enthrall you with its beauty, the houses clinging to the side of a mountain and the great views over the River Turia. 

In the centre, make sure you visit Ademuz Castle and gaze at the vistas from the viewing points. The churches and chapels breathe history and there are a number of districts – Mas del Olmo, Sesga and Val de la Sabina – which make charming destinations for excursions.

Next up on our tour around El Rincón de Ademuz are Casas Altas and Casas Bajas, two lovely, rural destinations also sitting on the banks of the River Turia that make great trailheads for peaceful walks in the countryside. Afterwards, head to Castielfabib where you will be wowed by the historic centre whose streets and façades will whisk you back to medieval times. The Castle and Walls as well as Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles Parish Church are must-visits during your time here. 

In Puebla de San Miguel, you can set off in search of the wash houses and three chapels as well as stop off to look at the altars attributed to the school of Juan de Juanes at San Miguel Arcángel Parish Church. Not to mention explore some spectacular natural landscapes. 

To conclude your visit to the municipalities in El Rincón de Ademuz, make your way to Torrebaja and Vallanca where you can unwind among the mills, wash houses, old farmhouses and chapels. You’ll feel as though you’ve been transported to another period in time. 

What to see and do in El Rincón de Ademuz

There are plenty of activities and excursions for you to enjoy in El Rincón de Ademuz, whether you’re travelling with your family or are keen to get active in the great outdoors. There’s something for everyone. 

In Ademuz, we’d recommend visiting La Celadilla, an Iberian archaeological site that you can either visit independently or as part of a fun and entertaining living history tour. Your little ones are sure to love the latter. Mother nature reigns in Puebla de San Miguel, giving you the opportunity to see the millennial Spanish juniper trees in Las Blancas Wood and walk the routes with information panels in Puebla de San Miguel Natural Park

Castielfabib is a great place to start your excursion to the ruins of San Guillermo Convent where you can capture some great photos or La Muela de los Tres Reinos Municipal Natural Landscape. In Vallanca you can go canyoning and in Torrebaja you can explore the landscape shaped by the River Ebrón.

Lastly, to conclude your time in El Rincón de Ademuz, you can walk alongside the River Turia from Casas Bajas, planning a lovely route, hopping from fountain to fountain, around Casas Altas. Come and fall in love with this pretty part of the Region of Valencia.
