Oliespal is an olive oil cooperative formed of producers based in Altura, Castellnovo, Almedíjar, Chóvar, Navajas, Sot de Ferrer and Teresa. The aim of the collective is not only to guarantee the creation of quality olive oils, but also to bring visibility to the sector through olive oil experiences. 

Olive oil experiences enable you to discover what a region is really about. They envelop you in the landscapes, introduce you to customs and ways of life and treat you to mouth-watering gastronomy. Based in Altura, Oliespal offers a wide range of activities that will immerse you in the world of an olive oil that has received both national and international awards. 

You will visit the oil mill where the fresh olives are pressed, followed by a tasting session. Your knowledgeable guide will help you identify the qualities of a premier olive oil, discover taste notes and nuances, and think about the colour. A true delight for the senses.

Oliespal also has an Olive Oil Museum where you can delve even further into the world of its prized olive oil, which has been produced since 1927. You will see the machinery used in production, discover the artisanal pressing processes and find out about the impact the industry has had on the local community. Also on display are the earthenware jugs where the oil was kept, the stone mill, hydraulic press and other tools. 

The land in and around Altura has been shaped by the production of olive oil for many years. There were olive groves here from as early as the 15th century, if not before.
