El Puig de Santa Maria has a number of beaches which are great places to spend the summer soaking up the rays, dipping into the Mediterranean waters and enjoying quality time with the people you love the most. Looking at the map, Santa Elvira-La Torreta is the northernmost beach in the town.
Rubbing shoulders with Puçol, Santa Elvira-La Torreta beach paints a unique picture. When you get closer to the coast, you will see a number of breakwaters forming small coves, softening the waves, resulting in calm waters which are ideal for children.
The beach is 750m long and about 70m wide. Combining sand and pebbles, this semi-urban beach sits in the midst of the huerta, the local agricultural land. It has all the services you could possibly want or need for a successful day at the beach. You will find lifeguards in the summer months, showers to wash the sand off your feet, bins, toilets and parking.
It couldn’t be simpler to get to Santa Elvira-La Torreta beach. You can either walk, hop on a bus or drive, taking the V-21, the nearest motorway.
As if all that weren’t enough, the beach is unique in that it has a dog-friendly area. Opened in 2016, the dog-friendly beach is located in La Torreta, to the north, and close to Barranc del Puig. It is 100m long and has signs designating the area. If your four-legged friend enjoys getting in the water to take the edge off the summer heat, Santa Elvira-La Torreta beach is the perfect place to do exactly that.
