What to Do in Agres
Head to the Old Town of Agres and see its great historical and cultural legacy firsthand. Here, cobblestone streets will take you to the Iglesia de San Miguel, Palacio Condal, Castillo and more. Just nearby, we can also visit the municipal laundry, which is thought to be one of the largest in all of Alicante.
One of the icons of Agres is the Santuari de la Mare de Déu del Castell, located in Sierra de Mariola. Its religious relevance and natural surroundings have made it a top place to pilgrimage to all year long.
If you really love nature and active tourism, let Agres surprise you. It has a variety of tours that take travellers into the heart of its natural surroundings and let them discover the true wealth of the area.
Want to do something a little different? Wander down the A L’ombra de les Caves trail and visit different wine cellars that were formerly used to make ice. The Cava Gran winery is a great place to see original cellars like those, the architecture of which stems from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
Agres is also filled with different hiking trails that are great for families, like those that go through Sierra de Mariola Natural Park—which is considered a “green lung” in the Region of Valencia. For a real treat, try the Fonts d'Agres urban trail.
After you discover all the magic Agres has to offer, we know you’ll love it just as much as we do. See you there!
