Modernism left Alcoy a complete catalogue of architectural samples, built under the epigraph of "stil nouveau". Alcoy's old quarter is a result of the urbanism of the second half of the XIX century though its streets possess the mark of being the pioneering city of the Spanish industrial revolution. Streets such as Santa Rita, San Mauro, San Antonio or San Blas are adorned with small figures in iron, sample of the powerful metallurgical industry.
