Holy Week floods Altea with religious events between the 2 and 9 April, with the brotherhoods at the centre. Some of the traditional activities that take place are the Opening Address, Lectura del Pregón, The Blessing of the Palms, and the Children’s Procession. You’ll also be witness to the Stations of the Cross, and several processions with religious floats, as well as mass in the town’s churches. Don’t hesitate, head to Altea to see these ancient religious rituals and experience Holy Week like a local. It’s only once a year, so don’t miss out.
