Come to Biar to see a spectacular Moors and Christians festival with a number of unique events.

Located in inland Alicante, Biar hosts one of the most historic Moors and Christians festivals in the Region of Valencia. The event fills the streets of the destination with spine-tingling band music, dramatic gunpowder and incredible costumes.

The festival programme includes some religious events, namely Bajada de la Virgen, when the Virgen is transferred from the shrine to the village along a path illuminated with hundreds of fires. A sight to be seen.

You won’t want to miss Medición and Baile de los Espías, held at the castle that is set up in the plaza for the embajadas. This event sees customs and theatre collide.
