What to see in Jacarilla
A good place to start your exploration of Jacarilla is in the centre where you will want to visit Nuestra Señora de Belén Parish Church, a Gothic Revival place of worship built in the 1920s. The church paints a pretty picture with its characteristic belltower jutting out of the centre of the façade.
Just a stone’s throw away is one of Jacarilla’s landmarks: El Marqués de Fontalba Palace and Garden. This special site was built around 1915 and has its very own church, a palatial residence and the lovely garden which is populated with valuable species of trees. You’re going to love taking photos of this beautiful monument and sharing them on social media.
Next up on your list of things to do in Jacarilla is to get out in the great outdoors, taking a walk that you can do with the kids. Starting close to the house-palace, the Cave Walk is a well signposted trail that will immerse you in the scenery of the Mediterranean huerta – agricultural land – leading you to an interesting cave. Different variations of the walk are available, catering to the level of your walking experience.
Jacarilla is a great choice of destination if you’re keen to explore the landscapes of southern province of Alicante. Not far away there is a golf course, which is the ideal place to play a round of your favourite sport at the weekend. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to start planning an unforgettable getaway.
