Take a getaway to a lovely municipality where you can totally unwind and discover a number of unexpected surprises. Start planning your trip.

Located in La Marina Alta, L’Atzubia is the perfect destination for a rural and nature tourism getaway. You’re going to love the village’s streets and surrounds. There are also excellent places where you can enjoy a family day out in the great outdoors. Come and explore this part of the province of Alicante.

What to see in L’Atzubia

The centre of L’Atzubia is populated with traditional houses which are short in stature and topped with ceramic tiles. The streets, whose layout hasn’t changed since Arabic times, have a number of Moorish fountains nestled among them. It’s well worth taking the time to have a leisurely wander around. On your explorations, you’ll see San Vicente Ferrer Parish Church, which started being built in the 18th century.

L’Atzubia has two inhabited centres, one of which is located close to a fantastic fortress: Forna. The charming streets will lead you to San Bernardo Abad Church, which has a white façade. From here, you can start a 15-minute walk up to Forna Castle. The majestic fortress sits atop a mount and grants spectacular views.

Just outside the centre of L’Atzubia is Tossal del Llop Recreational Area where there are picnic tables, barbecues, water fountains, sinks and even a camping area. There’s plenty of shade and swings where your kids will play happily for hours.

If you fancy venturing underground, you can do just that at El Canelobre Cave, which is not to be confused with the cave of the same name in Busot. For 80m you will find yourself face to face with stalactites, stalagmites and giant vaults.

During your time in L’Atzubia, make sure you do some walking: the municipality’s scenery is well worth exploring. The PR-CV 58 is a wonderful route that you’re sure to love. From Forna, you can visit nearby Villalonga and even Pego. Both excursions will become unforgettable memories. So what are you waiting for? Come to L’Atzubia to see beautiful sights.
