Col·lecció Museogràfica Permanent d'Art Bizanti del Monestir de la Trinitat, the Permanent Museum Collection of La Trinidad Monastery’s Byzantine Art, is an unexpected cultural delight found in the town of Mutxamel. Located in the province of Alicante, the monastery is located in the centre of Mutxamel and dates back to the 17th century. Within its walls is displayed an incredible collection of religious art created by the very monks and nuns that resided here.

This art museum in Mutxamel exists alongside the workshop of painted icons, featuring many styles including Carolingian, Byzantine, Russian, Greek and Coptic. It’s a truly impressive display of historical religious art.

In addition to admiring the Permanent Museum Collection of La Trinidad Monastery’s Byzantine Art, the town of Mutxamel has plenty of other things to see.
