The square based tower is topped with a cornice. Investigations believed that originally it was built using masonry, although it can be seen to have been completely plastered. In 1858 a lighthouse was built using the towers structure, which modified considerably its original state. From around the lighthouse there is an ample view of the bays of Santa Pola and Alicante, also the island of Tabarca can be seen.
