The Salt pier welcomes the new arrivals at this port, which recalls the great sailing ships that set off for Cuba with their holds full of the salt from the local salt flats with its name. The sailing tradition has been maintained in Torrevieja with a very active club that hosts regattas and organises fishing competitions and exhibitions. All of this takes place in its magnificent installations, which include a swimming pool and well looked after services. There is an officially approved sailing school where courses in light sailing are on offer from the age of eight. There are also introductory and advanced courses on offer for cruiser craft.
