A great deal of cave art has been discovered across the three provinces in the Region of Valencia. The warm Mediterranean weather in the area has played a fundamental role in preserving these artefacts that are so old that they make the mind boggle. Cave art in the Region of Valencia: Alicante
The province of Alicante is home to a large number of destinations boasting cave art. A good place to start your exploration is Alcoy, followed by the Vall d’Ebo and Alcalalí. We then recommend going to Alcoleja and Alfafara, where there are no fewer than three sites.
In Benissa, you can see an ancient depiction of a female figure. Next, make your way to Altea, Dénia, Jávea, Santa Pola and Cueva de las Arañas in Carabassi.
And that’s not all. Don’t miss the cave art in Beniarrés, Benimassot, Bolulla, Cocentaina, Confrides and Castell de Castells. Not to mention Famorca and Facheca, Vall d’Alcalà, Lorcha, Penáguila, Planes, Tàrbena, Tollos, Tormos, Vall de Laguar, Xaló, Vall d’Ebo and Vall de la Gallinera which is famed for its many archaeological findings.
Cave art in the Region of Valencia: Castellón
There is also a great deal of cave art to see in the province of Castellón. For instance, Barranc de la Valltorta - located between Tírig and Coves de Vinromà - is an important site and even has its very own museum.

Last but by no means least, the province of Valencia has some incredible sites where you can gaze at cave art. Starting with Abrigo de la Peña in Mogente, a municipality where you can see many other examples of cave paintings. There are also a number of sites in Bicorp and Dos Aguas.
