Lookout spots in the Region of Valencia are great end points to aim for when on a country walk. Clamber up summits, past castles and through rugged mountain ranges, and feel as if you're soaring above the lands. We've put together a list of great viewpoints in the Region of Valencia, so you can choose the one that best suits your trip and ensure you get an eyeful of the incredible naturescapes here.
Viewpoints in the province of Castellón
Santa Lucía y San Benito Chapel
Poised atop Sierra de Irta Natural Park, this pretty whitewashed chapel in Alcalà de Xivert/Alcossebre boasts some incredible views of the Mediterranean coast. You can reach this viewpoint in Castellón by car or along a steep trail if you're looking for some outdoor exercise.
Peña Ajuerá and Cinglos del Rincón
Azuébar is a humble destination nestled in the verdant mountainscapes of Sierra de Espadán. Here, you can go on a great walk that takes you to two of the best viewpoints in the Region of Valencia. Check out the rocky lookout point, Peña Ajuerá, then continue on up to Cinglos del Rincó, a dramatic rock formation that serves as a natural stone lookout deck.
Vistabella del Maestrat Viewpoints Trail
Vistabella del Maestrat has several different lookout points nearby, which you get to on a short three-kilometre hike. Clamber up and gaze at the rolling hills from Raval, Pinet, Calvari, Castell or Coll de Vidre viewpoints.

L’Albufera
Don't forget to pack your binoculars for this one if you're a keen birdwatcher. This lookout point is in the heart of L’Albufera Natural Park, giving you a chance to spot plenty of wild waders and other birds. Time your visit with the sunset and you'll realise it's one of the most romantic places out there.
El Garbí
One of the most impressive natural miradors in the Region of Valencia is located in Sierra Calderona Natural Park. You can get here by car, or if you fancy a challenge, you can tackle the steep walk up to the viewpoint, which even features chains to help you clamber up.
La Safor
If you're still looking for challenges, we recommend heading to Villalonga in Valencia and taking the hard, uphill hike to La Safor viewpoint. Once you've reached the top, you'll find an incredible natural amphitheatre formed out of rock. This adventure is one for the more seasoned walkers.
Viewpoints in the province of Alicante
Relleu Reservoir Walkway
Relleu Reservoir Walkway is made of wooden planks that jut out of the rockface. It also features a dizzying glass floor observation deck, which is guaranteed to make your knees feel weak.
El Mediterráneo
One of the most popular lookout decks in the Region of Valencia is El Mediterráneo viewpoint in Benidorm. Located on top of what used to be a castle overlooking the sea, this spot is a great photo opportunity, with the glistening Mediterranean Sea the perfect backdrop.
