This comfy and well-equipped hostel is the perfect place to stay when visiting the oak forests of Sierra de Esapadán.

La Surera hostel is situated in the heart of Sierra de Espadán Natural Park, in the little village of Almedíjar. Book a stay here and you’ll find plenty of unspoiled Mediterranean nature right on your doorstep.

This hostel offers flexible meal options, including bed and breakfast, half board, or full board. Designed for accessibility, the hotel comprises five dormitories for up to four guests, two larger dorms with four bunk beds and an additional bed for up to nine, and a separate space that sleeps six people. With a total capacity of 44 guests, it’s an ideal choice for group stays.

The bathrooms and showers are communal, and the staff cook up a storm in the kitchen, using fresh, local - ingredients including produce straight from the hostel’s own allotment. La Suera also has a yoga studio, patio and communal dining area with microwaves, fridge, plates and cutlery. The hostel is dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along.

Hone your climbing skills on the bouldering wall at La Surera, then head out on a hike along one of the many country trails to explore the stunning surroundings. The area is also known for its artisan cheeses, which you should sample before you leave for a taste of the local cuisine.

To top it all off, the hostel organises activities for school groups, summer camps and workshops on how to prepare homegrown fruit and vegetables. Get stuck into the wholesome experiences on offer as you enjoy your holiday in the country.
