El poblado ibérico-romano de Sant Josep, the Iberian-Roman village of Sant Josep is an important archeological site located on top of Sant Josep hill in La Vall d'Uixó. Here, you’ll come across the ruins of a Roman settlement from around the 4th and 5th century AD, as well as other remains from a much older Iberian settlement that dates back to between the 6th and 2nd century BC.

This Iberian-Roman settlement in La Vall d'Uixó enables you to learn how ancient civilisations lived and what life was like in the Iberian acropolis. You’ll be surprised to see walls, towers, in addition to houses, stairs and other structures still standing today. Visit this site for a unique experience back in time in which you can appreciate how cities were designed and built back in ancient times.

The entrance of the archeological site is located right next to the fantastic Sant Josep Cave, so you can visit both places for a fun day packed full of geology and history. We recommend climbing up to the ancient village and then diving down into the prehistoric cave afterwards to weave through stalagmites and stalactites. You’re bound to have an unforgettable day uncovering the area’s many historic treasures.
