From the December long weekend to the beginning of January, a multitude of events are held in Peñíscola on the occasion of Christmas. Some of the most popular are the Christmas Market in Plaza Santa María that will take place during the long weekend and will be extended until December 17 to give way to the Medieval Market that will be held from December 29 to January 1 between the Plaça de bous and Plaza Santa María.

The religious calendar includes the celebration of the Midnight Mass, the mass on Christmas Day, St. Stephen's Day, a local holiday, with the parade of the Music Band; on New Year's and the traditional celebration on January 6 in the presence of SSMM The Three Wise Men.

Likewise, Peñíscola Castle organizes an interesting conference about the Templars and the figure of Pope Luna, and some fun historical workshops. Likewise, the Palau de Congressos continues its Cultural Circuit with interesting proposals and several cultural associations promote leisure activities.

The New Year's Eve Party includes the distribution of grapes and cava in front of the Town Hall and continues with a dance with an orchestra at the Study Center.

After having been the lucky one to be illuminated by the Ferrero Rocher lights in 2021, this Christmas Peñíscola will shine one more year with expanded lighting of its old town streets, its walls and its bastions.
