The Feria Romana Thiar Julia en Traiguera, the Thiar Julia Roman Fair, held in Traiguera (Castellón), takes place every first weekend of October and celebrates the town’s Iberian-Roman past, closely linked to the historic Via Augusta.
For a few days, the streets of the old town are completely transformed thanks to the involvement of local residents. Decorations, everyday scenes and live performances bring life in Ancient Rome vividly back to the streets. Throughout the Thiar Julia Roman Fair, you can wander through squares and hidden corners, where you'll find actors and craftspeople showcasing traditional trades, rituals and customs from over two thousand years ago. This creates a lively, festive atmosphere throughout the town.
Traiguera also boasts other highlights, including the Royal Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Fountain of Health and scenic walking routes among monumental olive trees—perfect for rounding off your visit. Get set to step back in time and soak it all up!
