Montanejos is a paradise for nature lovers. Don’t miss its hiking trails—they are a treat for the senses!
Mijares River passes right through Montanejos, creating unique river trails in the Region of Valencia. Its rich landscape is shaped by great mountains and crystal-clear waters, giving locals and travellers alike many ways to enjoy their natural surroundings.
Because of its cultural and natural importance, the Fundación de Turismo in Montanejos encourages visitors to travel to this gem of a destination with their family and explore it through interpretive hikes. In fact, different hiking trails in Montanejos have been developed to take travellers of all ages and skill levels through the most beautiful parts of the municipality.
On these hikes, you’ll see the Castillo de la Alquería de Montanejos, which is known for its Islamic architecture and excellent viewpoint, and the Canturro ravine, which serves as a major water source in the area, especially as it applies to surrounding cultivation fields.
As you follow river routes like these, you’ll see some of the town’s most outstanding heritage sites. These include the Arab Tower, San José Bridge, las Villas Modernistas and, of course, Fuente de los Baños. The latter constantly draws visitors with its hot mineral springs that are 200+ years old and are rumoured to possess special medicinal properties.
No matter which tour you take, you won’t be alone! As you make your trek with your family, professional guides will be on hand to lead you and show you the historical and cultural beauty of this slice of Castellón paradise.
All trails have implemented extensive health and safety measures and the number of people allowed on each guided hike has been reduced. Spaces are limited, so if you want to spend a fun day in the Montanejos sun with your family, contact the Tourist Info Montanejos and reserve your spot today.
