Don’t miss the 1st edition of the Region of Valencia’s Tapas and Pinchos Championship

The very first edition of Campeonato de Tapas y Pinchos de la Comunitat Valenciana, the Region of Valencia’s Tapas and Pinchos Championship, taking place on the 20 and 21 November in Orihuela, has released all the details about the event. Your opportunity to savour some of the Region of Valencia’s best gastronomy, the event will see cooking maestros from the provinces of Castellón, Valencia and Alicante battle it out to create the tastiest tapa - live. 

What makes the 1st edition of the Region of Valencia’s Tapas and Pinchos Championship so special is that the dishes will be cooked in real time in live cooking demonstrations. The events will be held in some of Orihuela’s most iconic locations and are sure to feature some innovative combinations. 

The Region of Valencia’s Tapas and Pinchos Championship aims to shine the spotlight on the hospitality professionals that regularly serve tapas or pinchos in their bars or restaurants in the Region of Valencia (in other words, experts in the subject). The format is an exciting one, giving the chefs just a couple of minutes to prepare their tapa and serve six plates of it to the judges and the audience.

Over the course of two days, this tapas and pinchos event will turn Orihuela into a hub of the food that we love to tuck into all year round. And remember: the destination is positively bursting with cultural and historic heritage sites. If you’ll be in Orihuela to take part in the event, we’d highly recommend visiting Santo Domingo Convent, the Public Library and Fernando de Loaces Historical Archive, as well as the Miguel Hernández House Museum.
