Become a beekeeper for a day with Apivillores
Are you looking for a way to get up close to the natural world? To discover traditional ways of life? And live in harmony with your surroundings? Welcome to Apivillores, a beekeeping project running in Villores. With Viu Els Ports, you will delve into the fascinating world of bees and discover the importance of bees in our ecosystem.
Apivillores runs incredible experiences and activities. As you spend time with the bees, you will learn about the art of beekeeping, a traditional profession that not many people know much about, but that plays a fundamental role in country life. You will be enveloped in truly unique smells, sounds and images that will stay with you for years to come.
Apivillores’ beekeeping experience is an original idea that will bring you closer to Villores, a small community located in the heart of Els Ports county. Viu Els Ports will start off by putting the area into context, taking you on an exploration of the landscape and pointing out the plant species that the bees feed off to create their precious honey.
You will then become proper beekeepers, putting on protective bee suits so that you can get closer to the bees and their world. In the hive, you will learn how to identify the different types of bees and understand the different roles they play in the creation of honey and the hive dynamics. By the end of the experience, you will be instilled with a sense of respect for these tiny creatures and feel part of something much bigger.
This beekeeping activity in the province of Castellón is designed for families - with children over the age of four - to understand the importance of beekeeping. Sign up now to learn everything the experts and the bees have to tell you.
