Vlogs

Situated in the province of Valencia, in La Vall d’Albaida, Alfarrasí is a charming destination whose agricultural identity is still very much intact. Sunny streets and traditional houses define it as do its pretty patchwork fields. Plan a trip to inland Valencia and fill it with adventures in nature.

What to see in Alfarrasí

San Jerónimo Parish Church stands at the heart of Alfarrasí’s historic centre. This 16th-century landmark, restored in the early 1900s, features a pretty bell tower, and the frescoes that decorate the inside of the church’s dome are especially interesting.

Once you’ve wandered around the centre of Alfarrasí, head out of town and up the small hill where you’ll find the picturesque Cristo de la Agonía Chapel. To reach this little temple, follow the Calvario path, which is flanked by “estaciones” - stone monuments that depict scenes from the Passion of Christ. The views from here make the walk worth it!

Just one kilometre from Alfarrasí , you’ll come across stunning naturescapes such as that of La Venta. This historic place is where locals would come to wash their laundry in the river. Situated in the coolness of the shade, these stone wash houses now blend in with the idyllic scenery around them.

And last but not least, we recommend exploring the Quatre Pobles del Riu Route, which weaves through four municipalities, passing old water structures and Quatre Pobles canal. Immerse yourself in the natural surroundings of Alfarrasí and follow the route further into Benisseura, Guadassèquies and Sempere.

Whether you explore on foot or by bicycle, this country path will give you the chance to take a deep dive into inland Valencia and discover all it has to offer. Start packing for a holiday to some of Valencia’s smaller destinations which exude tradition and authenticity.
