La Alhama Tower is an historic building that was previously the city gate and now the town hall.

Torre de la Alhama, La Alhama Tower in Alpuente, is a stand-out historic monument that dates back to medieval times. The tower sits atop a semicircular arch that used to be the city gate in the centre of the village and is currently home to the town hall. An impressive fortress, it served as a key point of surveillance and defence in the municipality. Tradition has it that Jaume I chose the tower to hold the Court of his recently conquered kingdom. The tower was modified in the 16th century when the ceilings were lowered and flooring replaced the previous slabs.
