Located in Aras de los Olmos, Torre del Cortijo, El Cortijo Tower, was built during the period of the taifa Banu Qasim in the early 11th century. The tower has withstood the passing of time and you can gaze at its beauty and resistance in full. The tower is some 10m tall and contains a section of the town wall. It is an absolute must-visit during your time to this part of inland province of Valencia.

When it was built, El Cortijo Tower stood in the centre of Aras de los Olmos. Over the centuries, however, it has been surrounded by properties. The good news is that you can visit the Aras de los Olmos Ecomuseum collection in the patio of the tower, which is also a great photo spot.

Beyond spending some time at El Cortijo Tower in Aras de los Olmos, we would recommend you spend an evening watching the night sky. The destination is a Starlight reserve, meaning that it has very little light pollution and is a special place to do some stargazing.
