Take a lovely walk through the scenery surrounding Gátova and take your time to explore Molino de la Ceja, an old mill.

Sitting 700m above sea level, Molino de la Ceja is located to the south-east of Gátova in the province of Valencia. Though the date of the mill’s construction is unknown, it is known that it fell into disuse in the late 19th century. Part of the mill is still standing, giving you an idea of what it would have looked like in the past.

The stand-alone structure is cylindrical in shape. Its thick walls are built with blocks of limestone and it sits on the mountain rock. Fully restored, the mill is currently used as a mirador, or viewing point, affording spectacular views over the surrounding scenery.

To get to Molino de la Ceja, start walking Camino de Tristán and you'll come across it about a kilometre from the trailhead in the village. Another popular walk is Ruta de los Molinos, a trail that takes you to two local mills – Molino de la Ceja and Molino de Iranzo (also known as Molino del Cachumbito) – which are well-known architectural sites.

The walk starts at Fuente de los 15 Caños, next to Lavadero de Gátova, and will lead you through the centre of the village before heading in the direction of Fuente de Iranzo. Beyond the two mills and their beautiful views, Fuente de Tormo is another lovely place to stop and take a rest. The trail descends on its way back to the village. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Gátova and see a mill sitting in the midst of incredible scenery.
