What to see in Llutxent
To kick off your tour around Llutxent, we recommend visiting the stately Castle-Palace. This Gothic landmark dates back to the 14th century and has been lovingly restored so as to showcase its fascinating history.
Next, visit the 19th-century Asunción de Nuestra Señora Parish Church and take the opportunity to stroll through the nearby typical streets. At the entrance of Llutxent, you'll come across Término Cross, a large stone monument that greets you as you wander in.
Now let's head out of the historic centre and venture into the surrounding countryside. Choose between the many hiking trails which offer a glimpse into the local culture. A walk to Xio Castle, a 12th-century fortress that affords spectacular views, is a great opportunity to get the camera out.
Include the elegant 15th-century Corpus Christi Monastery or Church-Convent on your sightseeing tour. See if you can spot the old snow deposit, Nevera del Monestir de Sant Domènech, just a few minutes up the road. Not far from here is the La Consolación Chapel, which was built in the 18th century, and if you make your way back to Llutxent centre, you'll be greeted by the white Subida de la Costa Cross. Llutxent is a hiking paradise with something new to discover around every corner.
Another great tourist activity to do in Llutxent is visit the old lime kilns which are dotted around the surrounding countryside.
