During the final week of August, L’Olleria comes alive with parades, band music and all sorts of other family-friendly events as part of its Moors and Christians festival.

Located in the province of Valencia, L'Olleria is a town populated with historic buildings which we highly recommend visiting during the Moors and Christians festival.

Moros y Cristianos commemorates the 13th century battles that saw the Saracens expulsed by the Christians. Known as the Reconquista, these events have inspired a number of artistic performances.

L’Olleria’s Moors and Christians programme of events starts with the presentation of the Queen and her ladies in waiting, followed by the presentation of the Captains of the festival. There is also a satirical parade as well as more moving events such as La Ofrenda, a floral offering made to Virgen del Loreto.

You can see entradas of the Moors and Christians, dianas, despertaes, which awaken the whole town, and parades. There are embajadas and a procession in honour of San Miguel. Children, meanwhile, have a day dedicated to them full of games and shows. Come to L'Olleria during its Moors and Christians festival for three days of music, food and fun.
