Sitting opposite the church, Portal de Massalavés, Massalavés Gate, is a monument that has undergone countless transformations during its lifetime. It has now been restored, giving you the opportunity to delve into part of its history.
Massalavés Gate was originally a tower that was part of an Arab settlement. Following the Christian Conquest, it was expanded to build a fortress. Later still, it was used as a residence by an illustrious family, the Milá, and it has also been the offices of the local council.
For a long time, the gate looked like any other property, but an extensive restoration project shone the spotlight on the original materials with which it was built. The result is a lovely surprise. Make the most of your time in the village to take a look at Massalavés Gate and explore the destination's beautiful landscapes and the picture-perfect wash house, which has been restored. Discover the history and secrets of Massalavés.
