San Antonio Abad Festival in Olocau will fill the village with bonfires, gastronomy and traditions from the 21 to the 23 January. Join the celebrations.

Throw yourself into the magic of Fiestas de San Antonio Abad, San Antonio Abad Festival in Olocau, a celebration that defines the local area. Listed a Festival of Local Tourist Interest since 2019, the festivities breathe the essence of winter and are an important date in the Camp de Túria event calendar. The impressive bonfire, the delicious rice dish arròs amb fessols i naps and flavoured pastries known as rollets draw in tourists. The festivities take place on the weekend closest to the 17 January, which is the day in which honour is paid to San Antonio Abad.

The celebrations start with the locals building the bonfire opposite Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church on Plaza Mayor. On the Saturday, you can dig into a dish of arròs amb fessols i naps, watch the children’s bonfire and treat yourself to some chocolate. The afternoon comes to a close with a procession in honour of San Antonio Abad and the blessing of the bonfire. When night falls, it’s time for the encesa, which fills the plaza with light accompanied by a firework display. The festival continues on the Sunday with the exciting baixà dels rotllets and the blessing of the animals. The embers of the bonfire will burn for five days, enabling both locals and visitors to cook meat and sausages on the flames.
