Visit Paterna Tower, an historic defence symbol sitting at the highest point of the town.

Have you ever visited Torre Árabe, Arab Tower in Paterna? The tower was built between the late 11th and early 12th century and is one of the town’s most recognisable structures. Arab Tower sits amid the peculiar cave-houses. Originally square, it acquired its conical shape following the Christian conquest in the 14th century. The fortification was part of Valencia’s defence belt, which served to protect the population. 19.5 m tall and with a diameter of 12.6 m, the tower has three floors and a terrace affording panoramic views over Huerta de Valencia, the local agricultural land. It was listed a Site of Cultural Interest in 1971, an excellent reason to go and visit it.
