From here you can follow trails and paths through incredible countryside until you find yourself at the beautiful Sant Jeroni de Cotalba Monastery or passing riuraus, traditional structures that were used for drying raisins. Soak up the peaceful atmosphere in this pretty town where time stands still. We’ll tell you what you need to know to make the most of your getaway here!

What to see in Ròtova

Ròtova’s fascinating past has left its mark, evident in the ruins of Borró Castle, the Muslim fortress and the Roman villa of Sort. In the town centre you can find traditional ceramic panels, such as those on the façade of the 18th century parish church, dedicated to Saint Bartholomé Apóstol and in neoclassical style.

The most striking building is the 17th-century Condes House, which still preserves some of its original architectural features, such as the battlements and the spectacular staircase, which is well worth visiting. And see if you can spot the counts’ coat of arms!

A great plan in Ròtova is to walk along one of its trails in your comfiest pair of trainers. We recommend the short and easy PR-CV 100 route which will take you to the castle and along the Blan, Llibrell and Les Galeries ravines and then on to Penya Roja. Don’t miss the idyllic natural pools as you walk!

The festivities in Ròtova are a great excuse to plan a getaway, especially during the famous Porrat de Sant Macià, which is held on the last weekend of February. This festival includes heaps of events that are great for all ages, including activities centering on the raisin production.

You can also visit the town's main festival in September or the Moors and Christians Festival in August. And as you enjoy the local festivities, you can sample the local cuisine by tucking into a corn cake ! Plan a trip to Ròtova and enjoy its picturesque landscapes and intriguing history.
