Templo de Diana, Diana's Temple, is an exceptional archeological site of immense historical significance in Sagunto. We recommend going on a cultural tour of the town to discover its many historic gems, such as the castle and Roman theatre, and make sure you have time to explore the various neighbourhoods, including the old Jewish quarter.
Diana's Temple and its megalithic ruins on Calle Sagrario can be accessed from Casa dels Berenguer, where you’ll find the Interpretation Centre and Information Point. It’s a great place to kick off your architectural tour around the town. There, you'll be able to observe the base of Diana's Temple, which was built as long ago as the 5th - 4th century AD. This special place of worship was one of the few buildings spared during Hannibal’s siege of the town in 218 AD.
Today, you can appreciate the impressively large original blocks of stone that serve as the base of the edifice. Don’t miss the chance to see this ancient temple dedicated to the Roman Goddess Diana, and get ready for a trip back in time.
