Come and visit an excellent destination for rural, nature and cultural tourism. Titaguas is the perfect place to fall in love with the Valencian mountains.
Located in Los Serranos and swept up in the characteristic scenery of El Alto Turia, Titaguas is bursting with beautiful natural areas that are calling out to be explored. Archaeological sites, typical architecture and plenty of culture will define the rest of your time in the destination. Keep reading to discover more.
What to do in Titaguas
The streets of Titaguas have got information panels that will help you make the most out of your time spent exploring the centre. Along the way, you will come across a number of points of interest including traditional buildings like Santa Bárbara Cooperative, the Girls School (which is now a cultural centre), Casa del Tío Cadenas and more.
You will also see plenty of traditional houses which in Titaguas are defined by cambras, food storage areas located at the top of the property. You will also want to visit El Salvador Parish Church and take a look at agricultural infrastructure such as threshing floors, hay lofts and buckets.
Nuestra Señora del Remedio Chapel, El Azagador and Titaguas viewing points, and Monte Calvario are other places you will want to include on your itinerary. You’re sure to find plenty of beautiful places to photograph. If you fancy venturing outside the municipality, you can visit the old 13th century castle, Cabrera Castle, and a site containing rock art in Rincón del Tío Escribano.
If you’re keen to do some walking in the countryside, you will be pleased to hear that Titaguas has plenty of beautiful scenery for you to explore. Some natural areas are traversed by the river Turia, namely Tosquilla, Caballera, Molinillo, Los Masetes, Juncanilla and Rincón de la Olivera. Alternatively, if you love outdoor pursuits, there are plenty of mountain biking trails and even a via ferrata in the area.
Titaguas is a great place to do some astrotourism and has been listed a Starlight destination. La Loma astronomic viewing point is the perfect place to do some stargazing. You also won’t want to miss the great local traditions such as La Mojiganga de Titaguas, a dance, and Noche de las Velas, in which thousands of candles and music performances transform the destination.
